FIREBREAK

From Wednesday 24 June to Wednesday 01 July (inclusive), we will be activiating our 'Firebreak' protocol.

We are currently facing unprecendented demand.

To reduce waiting times, protect staff-wellbeing and improve our service, we will be limiting the requests for help.

You will still be able to submit the following requests through askmyGP:

  • clinically urgent
  • medical certificates (sick notes)
  • prescription requests
  • mental health concerns

Please be aware, each request will continue to be clinically triaged. If you believe your request for medical help is urgent, but the clinical team do not, it will be downgraded and you will be advised to seek help elsewhere if appropriate.

The waiting time for a response has increased in recent weeks due to staff shortages, unfilled vacancies, annual leave and illness. We have been working extremely hard to help as many of you as we can.

We need some protected time to respond to those who have been waiting longer than usual.

Please check our website for information on other services that may be able to help during this time.

We appreciate your understanding and support to allow us to resume our normal service.

PLEASE BE KIND. We face increasing levels of abuse, on-line, on the phone and in person. We are only trying to help as best we can.

Please browse our website and NHS inform for medical advice.
