FROM 24 MAY 2022
As with many other areas of the NHS, our practice is struggling to cope with demand. This is because of increased staff absences due to COVID-19 and self-isolation. To allow us to address the current pressures we are introducing a number of temporary measures. These include askmyGP being unavailable from 10am every day and the practice prioritising care. If you have an urgent request, you can continue to contact the practice on 01501 822256 (Shotts) and 01698 384482 (Newmains).
We will return to providing our regular level of service when it is appropriate to do so. However, COVID-19 is unpredictable and this may take longer than we would want.
We are working hard in extremely difficult circumstances to do the best we can for our patients. We appreciate your support, understanding and patience and would like to apologise for any inconvenience or frustration these temporary measures may cause.
The best way to get help from us is askmyGP. Click the link above, enter your details (as a patient, parent or carer) and we'll ask a few questions about the problem, whatever it is.
Alternatively contact Reception. One of our Patient Care Advisers will ask for a brief description of your concern to help your GP decide how best to help you.
If you are asked to attend for a face to face appointment:
come on your own if you can
come on time - don't be too early
wear a face covering on entering the health centre
use hand sanitiser on entering the Practice
sit in the waiting area close to your health care professional's consulting room - do not visit other parts of the building
report any possible symptoms of coronavirus infection - fever, continuous cough or change/loss of taste or smell
follow the one-way system
maintain 1m social distancing
your healthcare professional will be wearing appropriate PPE
With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.
Get Well, Keep Well
Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing whatever your medical condition.
We hope you enjoy having a look around the site and familiarising yourself with some of the online features such as ordering a repeat prescription.
